Most people meet Larissa Castelluber at the moment their Canadian dream feels either within reach or slipping away. What they don't always see is that she has spent her whole career on the other side of that same table, deciding who gets to move, and helping them get there.

Chapter 01

A career built around people who move

Before immigration consulting, Larissa's world was human resources and recruitment. She earned a background in International Relations and a Human Resource Management certificate from BCIT, then spent more than seven years in recruitment and global mobility in Canada, including large-scale projects in the mining sector, where getting the right people to the right place, legally and on time, was the whole job.

Global mobility is immigration seen from inside a company: work permits, LMIAs, relocation, compliance, the paperwork that decides whether a hire actually happens. Years of it gave Larissa something most consultants never get, an operator's instinct for how these files really move, and where they quietly fall apart.

She didn't come to immigration from a textbook. She came to it from years of moving real people across real borders.

Chapter 02

Becoming a regulated consultant

In Canada, only a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) or a licensed lawyer can legally charge for immigration advice. It is a regulated profession for a reason: the field is full of unlicensed "agents" and "facilitators" who take money and disappear when a file gets hard.

Larissa studied immigration laws, policies and procedures at the University of British Columbia and became licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants, registration R710678. Her licence is Class L2 RCIC, active and in good standing, a status anyone can confirm on the public register in under a minute.

Chapter 03

Founding Up Immigration

Up Immigration Consulting grew out of a simple frustration: the Canadian immigration process is confusing, high-stakes, and easy to get wrong, and too many people navigate it alone or trust the wrong hands. Larissa built a family-run consultancy to make it clear and reliable, combining licensed immigration expertise with the HR and global-mobility experience that shaped her.

Today her work spans the pathways that matter most to the people she serves: Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs (with a focus on BC PNP), LMIA, and citizenship applications. She serves clients across Canada, with a particular closeness to the Brazilian community making the same journey she understands from the inside.

The goal was never to process files. It was to make sure the right people don't lose their shot on an avoidable mistake.
