What is Family Sponsorship?

Family sponsorship lets Canadian citizens and permanent residents bring certain family members to Canada as permanent residents. The most common stream is spousal and partner sponsorship, but Canada also has pathways for parents and grandparents and, in specific cases, other relatives.

Each stream has its own eligibility rules, documentation standards, and processing realities. The common thread is that the relationship must be genuine and thoroughly documented.

Processing Times

Sponsorship processing times vary by stream and are updated regularly by IRCC:

Always confirm the current estimate on the official IRCC processing times tool before applying.

How We Help

An RCIC confirms which stream fits your family, builds the relationship evidence to the standard an officer expects, and manages the documentation so nothing is missed. For couples, we structure the proof of a genuine relationship; for parents and grandparents, we navigate the specific program requirements.
