What is a Visitor Visa?
A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) lets you enter Canada for a temporary stay.
A Canadian visitor visa, officially a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), is the document that allows a foreign national to travel to and enter Canada for a temporary purpose — tourism, visiting family, or business. It is issued by IRCC and, for most applicants, is required before boarding a flight to Canada. Citizens of visa-exempt countries typically need an eTA instead of a TRV.
